The Student Day commemoration ceremony, aimed at creating a friendly space for dialogue and fostering greater familiarity with the members of the Shokri Industrial Group, was held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the university.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Engineer Ahmadipour, CEO of Jahan Foulad Gharb, welcomed the students of the Applied Science University of Jahan Foulad Gharb. He stated: “This university is one of the best educational centers in the country in terms of educational facilities and learning conditions. As someone who interacts with various universities, I can confidently say that our facilities, particularly in practical and industrial fields, are more advanced than those of many prestigious universities in the country.”
He stated that students here have the opportunity to directly transition from theory to practice and apply their knowledge on the production line. He added: “This unique situation is a significant advantage for those who join this institution as students. As mentioned in the verses of the Quran, acquiring knowledge holds the highest position, and no act of worship is greater than that. Therefore, we strive in this organization to create an environment where students can fully dedicate themselves to the pursuit of knowledge.”
Engineer Ahmadipour added: “Another important point is that despite all the problems and challenges facing the industry, we have managed to maintain our academic structure and have never allowed day-to-day issues to affect the students. This reflects the tireless efforts of the management team to preserve and enhance the quality of education. Moreover, we have always strived to provide more facilities and opportunities for students so that they can make the most of this environment.”
In conclusion, he expressed hope that circumstances would progress in a way that such gatherings could be held on a larger scale in the near future, allowing more students to benefit from this environment. “Our goal is to always work together to contribute to the advancement of the scientific and industrial levels of the country and to continue this path through collaboration and joint efforts,” he stated.
Continuing the ceremony, Engineer Jahanbakhsh Shokri, Chairman of the Board of Shokri Industrial Group, stated: “Currently, our goal in this organization is to provide theoretical and practical training simultaneously. Achieving this has not been easy. If today we have been able to establish an applied science faculty within this organization, it is the result of years of effort and perseverance. I remember a time when educational systems were more focused on grades than on real learning. However, fortunately, conditions have now improved, enabling students to receive the best theoretical and practical training and gain valuable experience.”
He added: “As Engineer Ahmadipour mentioned, there are numerous challenges. In the worst economic and production conditions in the country, industrial units face prolonged shutdowns, and in some cases, production even comes to a halt. However, I am pleased that, despite these circumstances, our dear students here are learning and gaining experience. I hope that in the future, they will not only benefit themselves but also contribute positively to society and the country.”
Engineer Shokri, addressing the students, said: “My advice to you is to never waste your time and life. Make the best use of every opportunity available to you. Strive to acquire practical and hands-on skills in whatever field you are in. This will help you build a stable and dynamic career that can be utilized anywhere in the world.”
He added: “Rest assured that this institution will soon become one of the most reputable applied science centers, attracting students from various disciplines. Our goal is to one day tell you that you were part of a large and successful organization that has provided the workforce and industry with capable and skilled graduates.”
The Chairman of the Board of Shokri Industrial Group concluded by saying: “I thank all of you for being here and congratulate you on Student Day. I hope the day comes when I see you graduate, and we can proudly announce that this institution has produced successful graduates who excel both academically and practically at the highest level.”
Continuing the ceremony, Dr. Ebrahimi, Head of the Applied Science Training Center at Jahan Foulad Gharb University, stated: “Currently, in the Shokri Industrial Group, we have 50 students. Our goal for this year was to increase this number to 100. Unfortunately, due to certain restrictions imposed by the Ministry of Science on student admissions in October, we faced challenges in this regard. However, we hope that this issue will be resolved in the near future and that the admission capacity will reach optimal conditions.”
He added: “In addition to the semester-based courses currently underway, we are pleased to have made significant progress in offering short-term courses. Over this period, we have conducted more than 20 short-term courses. We encourage our dear colleagues to participate in these courses, as they provide a unique opportunity to share condensed knowledge with others. We hope to expand these courses in the future.”
The Head of the Applied Science Training Center at Jahan Foulad Gharb University emphasized: “Alongside these activities, we also hold workshops in various fields such as psychology, health, and other practical topics. We invite all of you to participate in these workshops and take advantage of these opportunities.”
He further announced the establishment of a job placement and entrepreneurship counseling center as one of the university’s new initiatives. He stated: “This center enables students to present their projects and ideas and benefit from various facilities and support. These activities can provide a significant advantage for our dear students in their career paths.”
Continuing the ceremony, Engineer Jahangiri, Senior Advisor to the Shokri Industrial Group, said: “As someone who has gone through these stages, I recommend that you make the most of your time. A person’s most valuable asset is their time and life. Strive to make the best use of the opportunities available to you. The Shokri Industrial Group has fulfilled its mission, and we hope that at least one of you will emerge from this organization as a successful entrepreneur.”
He added: “As you know, our country is in great need of education. This need is not limited to obtaining a university degree; rather, every individual, from students to professionals, must continually receive education to enhance their abilities. Therefore, make sure to take advantage of these educational opportunities and learn new skills.”
The Senior Advisor of the Shokri Industrial Group addressed the students, saying: “My advice to you is to always read books. Any book that comes into your hands, regardless of its subject, can help you stay up to date and acquire new skills. This is one of the keys to the success of outstanding individuals.”
In conclusion, he expressed hope that in the near future, we will witness continued growth and progress in the Shokri Industrial Group, and that with your cooperation, we can contribute to the advancement of education and practical skills in society.
At the end of the ceremony, several students raised their concerns and requests, and expressed their gratitude to the university management and Shokri Industrial Group for establishing and supporting the university.
