Seminar on Digital Transformation in the Steel Industry
A training seminar entitled “Digital Transformation in the Steel Industry” was held on September 1, 2024, at the conference hall of the Jahan Foulad Gharb University of Applied Science and Technology. The event was organized in collaboration with Hamkaran System and attended by senior executives, company personnel, and the university’s president.
The seminar aimed to provide the educational foundation and technological tools required to enhance digital capabilities in the steel industry, improve competitiveness in domestic and international markets, strengthen the knowledge and skills of specialists in addressing digital challenges, and increase productivity while reducing costs through process optimization using modern technologies.
The seminar covered topics including digital transformation in the steel industry, current challenges facing the industry and its digitalization, key technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Blockchain, and implementation strategies.
Digitalization has become a strategic necessity for the steel industry and is essential for sustainable growth and competitiveness in the global market.
It also plays a significant role in reducing costs, improving product quality, and increasing production speed. Beyond optimizing operations and lowering expenses, digital technologies enable more accurate demand forecasting and more efficient inventory management.
Other benefits of Artificial Intelligence include improving predictive maintenance of equipment, advanced data analysis, increasing productivity, and reducing equipment failures.
There is no doubt that Artificial Intelligence will become an essential part of business and everyday life in the coming years, much like mobile phones today. The Shokri Industrial Group’s decision to adopt and implement AI technologies promises significant and positive developments for the future.
This seminar marks the beginning of strengthening the digital transformation journey within the Shokri Industrial Group. Through the continuation of such educational programs, the Group is expected to make even greater progress toward innovation and sustainable development.
Seminar on ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
The Scientific Training Center of Jahan Foulad Gharb, in collaboration with Bisotoun Steel Company, organized a training seminar on the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System on October 7, 2024, at the center’s conference hall, with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and awareness of professionals in this field.
The seminar was presented by Mr. Taher Hashemi, an environmental expert from the Kermanshah Provincial Department of Environment. The seminar covered topics related to environmental protection, natural resource management, and the implementation of environmental standards in the steel industry. Participants included Quality Assurance and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) specialists from several companies, including Bisotoun Steel, Sima Foulad Jahan, Jahan Foulad Gharb, JAHAN SANAT KERMANSHAH, Petro Safe Technology Development, and the Waste Recycling and Organic Fertilizer Production Company.
The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance participants’ expertise in environmental management and introduce practical approaches to improving production processes while minimizing environmental impacts. The program also focused on increasing awareness of national and international environmental regulations, waste management practices, and pollution reduction strategies.
The participation of experts from various companies provided an excellent opportunity for exchanging experiences and discussing ways to improve environmental performance. The seminar was ultimately held as part of Bisotoun Steel Company’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility within the steel industry.
