The meeting of private sector industrialists of the country\u2019s steel chain was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, with the presence of Ayatollah Abdolhossein Khosropanah, Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and a group of steel company managers. This meeting was initiated by the Steel Center of the University of Tehran with the aim of strengthening scientific\u2013industrial cooperation, developing skills training, enhancing social responsibility, and reviewing industrial diplomacy. <\/p>\n

Dr. Ghiyami-Azad, Head of the Steel Center of the University of Tehran, referred to the challenges of the private sector and stated:
\n\u201cIran\u2019s steel industry requires a serious move towards new and sustainable technologies. The water scarcity crisis and energy imbalance compel us to take steps toward reducing resource consumption and developing sustainable production.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described the development of green steel as one of the most important global strategies and announced that a specialized green steel meeting will be held at the University of Tehran within the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

\"CEO<\/a><\/p>\n

Continuing the session, Mr. Ahmadi-Pour, CEO of Jahan Foulad Gharb and representative of the Shokri Industrial Group, highlighted the serious problems of private steel units:
\n\u201cUnequal competition with state-owned and semi-governmental entities is the main obstacle to the growth of the private sector; these entities, using government resources, have restricted opportunities for private sector activities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to the achievements of Jahan Foulad Gharb, he added:
\n\u201cWe are proud to have introduced products from one of the least privileged cities in Iran, Harsin, into the national steel production basket for the first time. If government support is provided and customs duties are set for these new products, we can prevent currency outflow and strengthen national production capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing joint sessions between the steel industry and the country\u2019s academic centers.<\/p>\n
